Listening to the silence between the words

Posted on Posted in Public Speaking, Uncategorized

Silence is one of the most powerful tools a speaker can use.

And one of the most difficult to master.

Often due to nervousness, many speakers feel compelled to fill the void and to carry on speaking continuously.

They become very verbose and dilute their key messages in an ocean of words.

Great speakers use silence effectively; They give listeners time to fully understand.

They make their audience feel comfortable and let them enjoy the moment of respite that a long pause affords.

When you are able to let your audience listen to the silence between the words, you will elate at the effect it creates.
